The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu organized the award-giving ceremonies for the 13th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Essay Writing Competition and the 9th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Speech Competition-2026 today. Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Abrar H Hashmi, attended the event as the Chief Guest.
This year’s essay writing competition was dedicated to commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. Students wrote essays on the topic: “Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah mainstreaming the demand for Pakistan through constitutional means.”
Mr. Pratik Pokhrel from Viswa Niketan Secondary School secured first position, followed by Dakshesh Ghimire from Chand Bagh School in second place and Nitin Thapa from Pranjali World School in third place. The winners received certificates of achievement and cash prizes. Twelve additional students were also recognized with special cash prizes and certificates for their outstanding performances.
In the speech competition, higher secondary and tertiary-level students delivered speeches on the thought-provoking topic: “Will AI Engulf Libraries?” Ms. Vishwakala Nepal from Reliance College secured first position, while Mr. Tshiring Tamang from National Law College and Bipyum Chaulagain from St. Xavier College Maitighar secured second and third positions respectively. They were awarded certificates of achievement and cash prizes, while twelve other participating students also received certificates and cash prizes.
A large number of Nepalese students from more than 50 higher secondary schools and universities across Nepal participated in the two competitions. Conducted in phases over the past two weeks, the competitions concluded with today’s award ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Abrar H Hashmi appreciated the students for their critical thinking and engagement on important contemporary and historical issues. He lauded the participants for their thoughtful essays on constitutional efforts and the services of Quaid-e-Azam in the creation of Pakistan, noting that such initiatives strengthen mutual understanding and help build lasting bridges between the youth of Nepal and Pakistan.
The Ambassador of Pakistan Essay Writing Competition and Speech Competition have been organized consecutively for the past 13 and 9 years respectively. Both competitions have gained significant popularity among Nepalese youth and continue to attract talented students from across the country.
